Montezuma Creek is a really cool area outside of Blanding, Utah that seems to fly under the radar for whatever reason. I visited in February 2026 and was almost completely alone the entire time I was there. Most of the photos above are from Montezuma Creek, but some are from short hikes in the surrounding area. The road down Montezuma Creek is well-maintained and accessible to low clearance vehicles and has impressive ruins and petroglyphs you can stop to explore all along the way. I found a pretty good guide on-line, but was still unable to find a lot of the ones on that were listed. I'd also visited some other sites that morning, so I wasn't able to take the time to find to stop and everything before it got dark. There's enough here to keep you occupied for an entire day, without too much walking required, as most of the sites are located pretty close to the road.
